How do you care for natural fibers?

How do you care for natural fibers?

If you are reading this blog post, you now know that we exclusively offer kids' clothing made from natural fibers. (If you're unsure what natural fibers are, feel free to check out this blog.) This means, this is also our responsibility to guide you on how to care for them, as they can easily shrink or lose their colours.

Cotton Fabric:

  • Gentle Washing Only: Cold water wash with a mild detergent is best to maintain colour and avoid shrinkage.
  • Avoid Overloading: Give your cotton garments room to breathe in the washing machine to prevent friction and wear.
  • No Dryer: Avoid this step at all costs to prevent clothes from shrinking.

Silk Fabric:

  • Hand Wash Only: Silk is too delicate for machine washing, so hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent.
  • No Wringing: Gently press out excess water and avoid wringing to prevent damage to the fibers.
  • Avoid Sunlight: Store silk in a cool, dark place to prevent fading.

Linen Fabric:

  • Opt for Handwashing: Hand wash in cool water using a gentle detergent.
  • Storage: Hang linen pieces to maintain their shape.

Wool Fabric:

  • Avoid Frequent Washing: Spot-clean stains with a gentle detergent and cold water for wool fibers.
  • Exercise Caution: Use a clothing brush to remove lint and keep your woolens looking fresh.
  • Fold, Don't Hang: Unlike linen, fold woolen pieces when storing to preserve their form and prevent stretching.

Conclusion:

Obviously offering clothing that is gentle for your kid's skin but also environmentally friendly is our n1 priority, but it is also important for us that you keep what you bought from us for as long as possible, hence why we have written this guide which we hope will be handy :)
